This session by Little Brother Montgomery was recorded in 1972 during his European tour. These tapes were on the shelves for almost 20 years. This gig comes over as almost a Library of Congress session with Little Brother talking about his life between songs. The songs are varied, running from a Duke Ellington medley to an original composition. He was enjoying a final flowering about this time in his life with several albums issued. His piano playing is very strong considering he had suffered a stroke in the late sixties. This 1972 tour did wonders for his self esteem and helped him immensely to recover. Little Brother was hard to categorize, though he is best remembered as a blusman, he could play in any key, knew most of the jazz standards en he could play old pop songs. It was all the same to him. Music was just music!
