The world of the blues in Catalonia includes supergroups like the Mr. Hurricane Band, made up of recognised session players in this Afro-American genre from this country. Cumellas, for example, has placed his harmonica at the service of Big Mama, Lotty Lewis, or, more recently, Quico Pi de la Serra. In fact, he is one of the most legendary bluesmen on the Barcelona scene.

With Mr. Hurricane, Cumellas, Martínez, Vagué and Foved have established discographical bridges with Memphis, shared bills with figures from blues and rock - Dr Feelgood, Robert Cray or Lucky Petterson, for example – and taken part in festivals such as those at Cazorla, Béjar, Cerdanyola and the Barcelona Blues Festival. There is a good reason for their success: they project raw, direct electric blues, with an unstoppable shuffle, providing collector's item solos that have made them one of the best bands playing this style.
