Born in Zimbabwe (1951) and resident in Barcelona since the 70's, De Swardt was a bassist for Gato Pérez and Maria del Mar Bonet, and blues masters like Eddie Bo and Johnny Copeland, or referents such as Jackson Browne. He was one of the pioneers in Catalonia of electric blues, rhythm'n'blues and groove, through formations such as Big Chief, Box Office or Princess of Time. Recognized to endow the bass with a unique loudness and a rhythmic contagious rhythm, now go back to the forefront with a band with the best and best of our blues.
In addition to his role as a companion of teachers like Javier Mas, Swardt combines this work with a solo career that began in 1993; Since then, Steve Swardt Blues Band has been a leading reference in the blues scene and has been invited to international jazz and blues festivals.
