The first album by Checkerboard Blues band "Blues for the Lady" with guest star Margie Evans. The blues lady from Los Angeles and former Johnny Otis vocalist helps Philipp Fankhauser to promote the album. She has performed at the Amsterdam Blues Festival, the San Remo Blues Festival, the Berlin Jazz Festival and many other concert venues with him and the Checkerboard Blues Band. "Blues for the Lady" hit the charts at CHUO FM Ottawa and KCSB Radio in Santa Barbara, and countless radio stations in Europe played the album while Margie Evans continued to tour with the band well into 1990.
