There are many misconceptions about the blues. The worst is the romantic-racist idea that the blues have to be shabby, dirty and badly played. Danish group Blue Magic is deeply sunk in this, the worst bluesmytologiska mud.
Thorbjørn Risager sings blooozz with theatrical rasp, reduced in burkigast sound imaginable. Guitarists glimmers at times, but stick mostly to the simplest figures of the early Chicago blues.
The songs? Ridiculously predictable covers, including a horrible version Same Ol 'Blues, on the cover attributed Freddie King, though Don Nix wrote it.

We have to remember that the review is just one persons interpertation of the album, (abit like your comment Anonymous), personally i enjoy the album, but thanks for the comment anyway. Next time you might like to leave your "Nic" so we ALL know who we are addressing with a reply. :)
Wonder who wrote this review, it makes me kind of upset since this album deserves better. (Some Words in the text indicates the text has been translated from Swedish, meaning it could have been a Swede who wrote it in the first place.)Personally I consider it among the best albums in my collection of Scandinavian blues artists. Of course taste in music is personal but this is almost an insult to a great Danish bluesman. Below you will find a more flattering review of the band by no other than Charlie Musselwhite.
