Memphis native Don Nix is a key figure in several genres of Southern Rock, Soul, and Blues and was instrumental in the creation of the trademark "Memphis Sound." Don was baritone saxophonist and founding member of The Mar-Keys, along with Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn (later members of Booker T. & The MGs) and Wayne Jackson (The Memphis Horns). The band recorded Last Night, a million-selling instrumental that launched the fledgling Stax label in 1961.
Don’s credits as writer, arranger, musician, and producer include Delaney & Bonnie, Albert King, George Harrison, Freddie King, J.J. Cale, Lonnie Mack, Furry Lewis, Isaac Hayes, The Staple Singers, Jeff Beck, Brian May, Eric Clapton, and John Mayall. Many of Don's Southern-Fried songs have become blues-rock classics. His blues standard Going Down has been recorded by Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lee Hooker, Deep Purple, Pearl Jam, and Mick Jagger.
I Don’t Want No Trouble is Don’s 10th and latest album. Don and Terry Wall produced the album. Don wrote all tracks, some in tandem with Wall, Gary Nicholson, Carson Whitsett, Ken Smith, Gary Talley, and Artie Wilson.
