Blues singer Bill Dowey is the real deal. He's got the voice, the feel, the experience, the life. Bill Dowey has got the blues. A powerful and heartfelt voice, a searing slide guitar tone, and a tour bus full of experience makes Bill Dowey one of the most convincing and dedicated blues artists in Canada. From humble beginnings in the basement of a downtown Toronto church where he discovered an old out of tune piano to backing some of the greatest names in blues Dowey has developed a masterful touch and a well earned place in blues lineage.

In addition to fronting popular Calgary blues outfit The Hoodoo Sons for 5 years and now leading his band the Blues Devils, Dowey has practically made a career of backing great blues legends. Performing and touring with names as illustrious as Albert Collins,Matt Guitar Murphy, Fenton Robinson, Sonny Rhodes, Luther Guitar Junior Johnson, Cleveland Fats, Eddy Clearwater, Lowell Fulson, Roy Gaines, Frankie Lee, Kathi McDonald and Canada's own Dutch Mason, Big Dave MacLean, Long John Baldry, Gay Delorme and Paul James to name only a few, has provided Dowey with a straight up shot of blues school and an encyclopedic collection of road stories.

Bill Dowey has filled opening slots for a list including Jethro Tull, John Hammond, the Neville Brothers, Buddy Guy, Robert Junior Lockwood, Charlie Musslewhite, Jeff Healey and Colin James. Dowey has performed at the Calgary Folk Music Festival, the Lethbridge Blues Festival, the Saskatoon Blues Festival, the Rawa Blues Festival, the Calgary International Blues Festival, and the Calgary Centre for Performing Arts Acoustic Blues Series, the Sky High Blues Festival, the Sylvan Lake Jazz Festival.

Living in Calgary Alberta Canada, Bill Dowey & the Blues Devils were the house band at the famed King Edward Hotel for 14 years until 2004, when it closed its' doors. Bill and his band, Brad Carter (drums), Brian McCullough (guitar), Richard Kowalewski (bass) and Earl McAuley (keyboards) continue to perform and tour throughout Canada and points beyond.
