Born in 1981, Roberto Belmonte was born in Campobasso. He moved to Prato where he currently resides.
Guitarist who seeks a modern style drawing from "blues masters" such as Albert Collins, Bb King to more contemporary ones, such as Matt Schofield, John Smith, Kirk Fletcher.
He approaches music from an early age, starting to play the keyboard, abandoning it soon for the much loved guitar.
He starts as a self-taught, then he will be followed by private teachers starting immediately to join local bands.
The passion for blues is immediately predominant, influenced by the various records of prominent Italian artists in the 80s and 90s, including Edoardo Bennato, Pino Daniele, Zucchero.
In Tuscany he continues the study of the guitar with various masters, including Marco "Bana" Pieraccini, who helps him to "stay on stage", Davide Pannozzo and Nick Becattini.
Participate has various masterclasses of international artists such as Robben Ford, Scott Henderson.
The main musical projects are the "Cigarbalblus", chicago style blues band with an unreleased EP ("hEPpyblus"); RB & The Blues Coffee, modern blues funky / soul band with which it boasts several collaborations, including Gennaro Scarpato, Cris Pacini, Marco Pieraccini, Keki Andrei.
The two projects are merged into a single formation and are in the process of recording a new CD with pieces written in 4 hands with the singer Teresa Senese.
Takes part in some well-known festivals in the Italian blues scene:
In 2014 he plays at the Camigliano Blues Festival and in June 2015 at the Torrita Blues Festival with Cigarbalblus;
In July 2015 at the Pistoia Blues Festival on the occasion of the Italian Blues Night, with the Nick Becattini Band;
in April 2016, always with the Becattini Band (Daniele Nesi on bass, Enrico Cecconi on drums and Michele Papadia on hammond), he participates in the opening night of the European Blues Challenge, playing with Italian bluesmen such as Luca Giordano, Marco Pandolfi, Mike Sponza , Fabrizio Poggi, Mario Insenga.
in October 2016, the evening of the Pacengo Blues Festival closes with CIGARbalblus.
Participates in the Pistoia Blues Clinics of June 2017 as Tutor of the guitar course and ensemble music teacher for students of the intermediate course.
A month later he enters the Pistoia Blues stage with the band of clinics teachers for a tribute to the Blues Brothers and James Cotton.
With CIGARbalblus he takes part in the blues festivals of Seravezza, Joe’s Blues and Pacengo 2017.
In July 2018, alongside the blues guitarist Dario Lombardo, he is again among the teachers of the Pistoia Blues Clinics and participates in the Pistoia Blues Festival with the Chicago singer Delores Scott.
In July 2019 he entered the studio for the realization of his first solo album accompanied by the great musicians Daniele Nesi on bass, Mario Marmugi on drums, Juri Pellegrini on harmonica, Claudio Airo on piano and hammond and Sergio Mosca on vocals.
